Intel Scholarship 2010

The Intel Penang Design Center (PDC), established in 1992, is one of the largest and most advanced Intel Design and Development centers in the Asia Pacific region. Intel PDC designs Intel® Core™2 processors, Intel® Atom™ processors, and Advanced IA Platform Chipsets. Our Design Engineers architect and create innovative IP and features for the next platform system-on-a-chip solutions on 45nm (nanometer) and 32nm process technology. Intel PDC grants R&D scholarships every year to outstanding students from local universities throughout the country.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Intel Penang Design Center Scholarship, an applicant must:
  • Be a Malaysian citizen
  • Be a full-time student in a local university studying in the fields of Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering
  • Not hold any other scholarship from other companies, organizations, or Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA)**
  • Have one or more of the following:
    • SPM with A1 for mathematics and all science subjects
    • STPM with grade A for a minimum of three subjects
    • Matriculation with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and above
    • For university undergraduates, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required
**Note: Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional Malaysia (PTPTN) loan holders are allowed to apply.
Scholarship package
Each scholarship package includes:
  • Tuition
    • RM10,000 per year for undergraduate students
    • RM13,000 per year for postgraduate students
  • Partnership with a Senior Design Engineer to mentor and guide your studies and career planning
  • Industrial training opportunities at Intel
How to apply
Each year, scholarship applications are accepted between July 1 and August 31. Bumiputeras are encouraged to apply. If you are interested in applying:

The Star Education Fund Undergraduate Scholarship Award 2010

The Star Education Fund, established by Star Publications (M) Bhd since 1994 with the primary objective of providing educational opportunities to deserving young Malaysians, invites eligible candidates to apply for The Star Education Fund Scholarships Awards 2010 to pursue full time undergraduate studies at local public universities in the following disciplines:

FIELD OF STUDIES

  • Undergraduate Degree in Advertising / Communications
  • Undergraduate Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business / Economics / Statistics
  • Undergraduate Degree in Mass Communication specialising in Creative Writing / Media
  • Undergraduate Degree in Graphic Design

ELIGIBILITY

  • Be Malaysian citizens of not more than 25 years of age as at 1st January 2010
  • Possess good academic records (STPM or equivalent)
  • Possess strong leadership qualities through active participation in extra curricular activities
  • Not be bonded to or in receipt of any financial aids from other educational institutions or organizations
  • Have gained admission to the local public universities for approved course of study

SCHOLARSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Valued at RM7,500 per academic year
  • Tenable for the minimum period required by the recipient to complete the course
  • Successful candidates may be required to serve Star Publications (M) Bhd upon completion of their studies

APPLICATION PROCEDURE



  • To obtain an application form, please submit a stamped (40 sen) self-addressed envelope (25cm x 30cm) and indicate the course applied for in the top left-hand corner of the envelope or download the form here.
  • Completed application forms with the required supporting documents listed in the application forms must reach us by 16th July 2010. Late applications will not be accepted. Only short-listed candidates will be notified.
  • The Star Education Fund Committee will conduct interviews and candidates will be selected in open competition on the basis of a combination of factors, which includes academic performance, family back ground, active involvement in extra curricular activities and personal qualities.
